> hey herve,

> where's the report from last night's show? it was last night, wasn't > it? maybe you are too blown away to talk about it and still recovering?> :o)

Sally you're absolutely right!!! I was blown away by Jacks's music, guitar playing, kindness and generosity.

The show went really well, albeit a small audience of 45 I would say, but of high quality.

Set 1: Josh white; winterline; hometown boy, buckdancer, How much can the sun be down, waterbug; asphalt blues, old sal, this is my body, mama lou

Set 2 you're the one, coyote, walls came tumbling down, moment is mine, eternity & main, I love my music and my woman; losin' you, blow me down again, where you've been gone so long (newbury)

So where shall i start? I met Jack and Judy at the hotel and we had lunch in a finde restaurant. Then walked across the Seine to Notre Dame. While Jack was talking about the hunchback and the gargoils, re-reading the book in twenty minutes, I would ask him about Hemingway... Which came out as a good joke during the show!

Again, the show was awesome, fantastic, absolutely brilliant, probably the best show I have seen this year. Particuarly, I was astonished by Jack's guitar playing, especially his right hand and the way it brushes the strings UP at times. As Eric Taylor had written, Jack plays with both hands, and this is no joke!!! His hands are totally independent from each other and he plays with no pick or nothing, but what an accuracy, never a missed note, never a "plonk", always perfect.

Jack was immediately at ease as the audience was very responsive and he spoke a lot before the songs.

The highlight of the show was probably the closing number, love my music and love my woman, which is a 10 minute long medley where Here comes the sun meets jailhouse rock, bebop a lula, some bossa nova, all shook up, summertime blues, some classical, jazz, everything you can imagine!!!

The next encore was totally unplugged because of the unfriendly neighbour upstairs. I requested Losin' you which Jack played as a challenge, and did well. Then Blow me donw again and that long introduction about Mickey Newbury before mickey's song. As usual I suppose, Jack left the room playing the last chords and whistling away...

It was the most physical show I ever attended. At the hand my body was shaken by the energy Jack delivered!

All the people who attended where really blown away. Hope they'll speak out and come back more numerous next time!

Some pictures of the show are available at my new site, www.mysongwriters.com. It is under constuction but I have uploaded a few pictures.

Mike, I'm sorry Jack did not play the Al Grierson song. However he played it at home tonight and that's a great song indeed. Have to wait for the album. He also played another new one and I have the feeling that the next album will be another great one!

Well time to get some sleep. Last night, we got home at 2.30...

All the best to you great music lovers out there.
