Hotel du Nord, 7-23-02, pictures below
Verlon started the show with a 30+ minute set comprised of the following songs (not sure of titles)
A whisper and a scream (a capella); Darwettia's mandolin, I will come back again, We ain't been everywhere (yet!); Lucky dog with the funny Johnny Cash impersonation; Indian Head penny, co-written with Guy; A song that makes reference to Proud Mary, and as an encore, Business we call Show. Great set with enthusiastic audience.
Guy's set was loose, with no setlist: cold dog soup; The Cape, LA Freeway, Texas 47; Stuff that works; Sis Draper, Old Friends, Homegrown Tomatoes, Randall Knife, Desperados waiting for a train, Rex's Blues; Rita Ballou, Fools for each other, She ain't going nowhere, Better Days, Baton Rouge, Out in the Parking lot, South Coast of Texas, and Dublin Blues.
I had to leave before the end of the show to pick up my wife at the train station, so they must have performed a couple more. What's missing? Texas Cooking, probably? I'll ask tomorrow!
